Upper Mustang Biking offers an exhilarating journey through the captivating mountains of Mustang. It is located in northwestern Nepal, bordering the Tibetan plateau on one side and Dolpo & Manang on the other. The region features desert-like terrain and is home to Muktinath, a revered pilgrimage site for both Buddhists and Hindus.

Sherpa Village Trek presents this extraordinary tour encompassing sightseeing, mountain biking, pilgrimage visits along with various enjoyable activities.

Ride a 500cc Classic Enfield or a 411 CC Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle and explore the rugged, desolate, and treeless terrain of the Tibetan Plateau, passing through small communities reflecting the culture and traditions of ancient Tibet. Itinerary

Day 01

Arrival
We will meet you at the international terminal of the airport in Kathmandu. After that, we'll escort you to your hotel and then provide a briefing about the trip.

Day 02

Bike Preparation
Today, we will organize the motorcycle and get ready for the trip. You can do some last-minute shopping for any essential items you may need. You can also take in some sightseeing around Kathmandu.

Day 03

Bike Ride to Pokhara
Traveling along the Prithivi Highway allows you to follow the Trishuli River before reaching Pokhara and visiting Lakeside.

Day 04

Bike Ride Pokhara - Beni - Tatopani (2,600m)
The road from Pokhara winds through the high hills, passing by small markets and villages on the way. Our journey begins on a gravel road from Beni.

Day 05

Bike Ride from Tatopani to Muktinath to Kagbeni (2,900m)
Today we will visit the small but bustling Jomsom local market, which offers a variety of goods. Don't miss the opportunity to shop for unique souvenirs. Additionally, we'll have the chance to explore the temple grounds of Muktinath, where 108 fresh water taps are placed with the belief that washing in their waters absolves one's sins. Another intriguing destination is the monastic school at Jharkot.

Day 06

Permit Formalities and Ride to Ghami
Explore Kagbeni Monastery, the Buddhist School, Kaligandaki River, ancient Buddhist Stupas, Chuksung, and Chella Villages, as well as Samar Village. Experience the unique beauty of Syangboche, Bhina, Ghiling, and Ghami villages with their stunning landscape and local farming houses featuring yak caravans. Immerse in Tibetan culture and observe traditional local activities.

Day 07

Bike Ride to Lo-Mangthang
Visit the Mustang Lo Gager Ghar Monastery, explore Lo-mangthang city, witness domestic yak and cattle caravans, admire the mountain views and landscape from the passes, learn about Buddhist teachings at the local school, experience traditional arts, visit the king's palace and engage in various local activities.

Day 08

Exploration Day
Visit Chhosar Monastery, Khangchuling Cave, Jhong Cave, NYFU Monastery, Chhonup Village, Nymagel Village, and Tingkar Village for a unique experience exploring cave monasteries and local life. Don't miss the opportunity to visit Namgyal Monastery, and Summer Palace as well as participate in various local activities.

Day 09

Second Exploration and Ride Back to Chusang Village
Explore Yara and Ghara villages, cross the Kaligandaki River, visit a Buddhist stupa along the way, explore a Tibetan monastery, and take part in local activities.

Day 10

Bike Ride from Chhuksang to Kalopani
Highlights: Experience the local culture in Kagbeni village, explore the Kaligandaki River, visit Jomsom market, and engage in various local activities and products.

Day 11

Ride from Kalopani to Pokhara
The region's unique culture, quaint villages, Beni Market, dense forests, and local customs will captivate you. In Pokhara, you can unwind with some drinks and live music at the pubs. Additionally, there are opportunities to extend your tour from Pokhara for activities like jungle safaris, Lumbini tours, or adrenaline-pumping adventure sports such as paragliding, bungee jumping, zip-lining, and rafting.

Day 12

Bike Ride from Pokhara to Kathmandu
Explore the local market, visit the Seti River and Trishuli River, or extend your day by driving to Bandipur Village.

Day 13

Departure
We will transport you to the airport from where you will take off for your next destination.

FAQ

Do I need a license to ride in Nepal?

Without a license, you cannot be considered a legitimate rider. Prior to arriving in Nepal, we require copies of your passport and license so that we can arrange local permits for your ride in Mustang, allowing you to drive there.

What kind of bike is given to us?

We offer a choice between the 411 CC Royal Enfield Himalayan and the 500 CC Royal Enfield Classic, both of which are known for their power and comfort on long rides. Let us know which bike you prefer.

 

Is there Internet in Mustang?

 Internet access is now available in most places in Upper Mustang. In Lo-Mantnag, you can purchase a recharge card for Everest Link Wi-Fi and use mobile data throughout the entire trip.
