The tour begins with sightseeing in Lhasa (3,650m), exploring iconic sites such as Potala Palace, Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor market.
Upon arrival in Lhasa (3,650m), you will embark on a delightful sightseeing experience that encompasses historical monasteries and artifacts before venturing into the enchanting Tibetan wilderness towards Everest Base Camp.
Along the way, you’ll encounter diverse landscapes ranging from mystical lakes to cultural villages amidst serene nature.
Arrival In Kathmandu
Welcome to the beautiful country of Nepal in the Himalayas. When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Sherpa Village Trek will greet you and help transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu, and you will be briefed about your trip.
Kathmandu Sightseeing
After breakfast today, you'll begin a guided tour of some of the most significant historical and spiritual sites in Kathmandu. These landmarks are all designated as World Heritage Sites, including the sacred Hindu temple Pashupatinath, the renowned 'Monkey Temple' Swayambunath, the Buddhist shrine Bouddhanath (one of the largest Stupas in the world), and the medieval city Patan.
Bhaktapur Durbar Sightseeing and Trip Preparation
Today, you'll have the opportunity to discover the historic city of Bhaktapur and make preparations for your trip. Usually, obtaining an Urgent Tibet visa takes around two and a half days. For a top urgent visa, it can be processed within one day but at a slightly higher cost.
Ride to Shyabrubesi (1,140m)
After an early morning meal at the hotel, start your motorcycle and ride 40 kilometers to Prithibi. Then, turn left towards the Kerung border. It will be a lengthy journey through the isolated regions of Langtang National Park until Rasuwagadi via Nuwakot and Dhunche. You'll spend the night in Shyabrubesi.
Ride to Kerung (2,750m) and Rest
After having breakfast at the guesthouse today, you will travel 18 kilometers to reach the border of Nepal and Tibet. Once you complete the required border procedures, you will then journey 24 kilometers to Kerung. Upon arrival, take the rest of the day to discover Kerung's local town and prioritize acclimatization for the following day with no further driving.
Ride to Tingri (4,300m)
Today, following your morning meal, you'll journey uphill to the highest plateau in the world. You'll be greeted by the unique Tibetan landscape and the awe-inspiring sensation of being at the top of the world. If weather allows, you'll witness a stunning panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges, including Mt Cho Oyu (8,201m) & Mt Xishapagma (8,012m), though they may appear small compared to the vastness of the Tibetan plateau. From TINGRI, one can take in magnificent views of Mt. Everest (8,848m).
Ride to Ronbuk (4,980m), Visit Everest Base Camp, and Ride to Xegar
Today after breakfast, you will travel to Ronbuk through the stunning Tibetan landscape. You'll have the opportunity to visit Ronbuk Monastery, which is the highest monastery in the world, and take in breathtaking views of Mount Everest.
Due to restrictions imposed by the Chinese government, vehicles are not allowed within 4 km of Ronbuk. To get there, you can take an electric bus that runs every 30 minutes. Please note that visitors without climbing permits are currently not permitted at Everest base camp; however, you can still enjoy similar impressive views from a point located 1.5 km before the base camp.
After spending time at Everest Base Camp during your day excursion, you will drive to Xegar for an overnight stay. If preferred, it's also possible to arrange accommodation at Ronbuk for a unique experience; just be aware that on the following day, a longer drive (90 KM more) would be required to reach Shigatse if this option is chosen.
Ride to Shigatse (3,900m)
Today is another gorgeous day. You will traverse passes reaching over 5,200 meters, where snow is often seen. Following a scenic drive, you will reach Shigatse (3,900m), the second-largest city in Tibet. The major draw in Shigatse is the Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the biggest active monasteries in Tibet. Spend your evening exploring the local town of Shigatse.
Ride to Gyantse (3,950m)
In the morning, explore the Tashilhumpu Monastery of the Panchen Lama. Then, travel to Gyantse to see the Kumbum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery and visit the local town of Gyantse.
Ride to Lhasa (3,650m)
Crossing over Karola (5,010m), Kambala (4,749m), Colorful Yamdrok-Tso Lake and the Tibetan lifeline river Brahma Putra offers a full day of stunning scenery.
Exploration Day in Lhasa
Once you finish your enjoyable breakfast, you immediately organize the details for your sightseeing excursion. A knowledgeable guide accompanies you to visit the renowned monasteries of Tibet. During your fascinating trip to Sera Monastery, you learn about important aspects of Buddhism. Following lunch, you continue to explore Tibetan ancient cultures and civilizations by visiting Norbulingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Jokhang Temple offers another thrilling and informative tour. Exploring around Barkhor Markets is also a significant part of the day's activities. Finally, you return to your hotel for some relaxation and refreshments.
Tour of Potala Palace and Drepung Monastery (3,660m)
Today, you will have the opportunity to become more familiar with the enigmatic allure of Lhasa. After breakfast, you will embark on a visit to the imposing Potala Palace that overlooks the city of Lhasa. From there, you will experience a remarkable and overwhelming display of intricate Tibetan murals, temples, stupas, and tombs belonging to eight former Dalai Lamas from an ideal vantage point. Each exploration brings ancient Tibetan cultures vividly to life. In the afternoon after lunch, your journey continues as you explore Drepung Monastery set amidst beautiful landscapes. Here you can observe nuns and monks engaging in chants and religious discussions. Following this spiritual excursion, return to your hotel for a delightful dinner before enjoying a well-deserved peaceful sleep.
Fly from Lhasa to Kathmandu
You will travel to Gonggar Airport from Lhasa, which is 60 kilometers away, by private car and then fly back to Kathmandu.
